As an artform, the mural is the oldest creative technique around. Dating back to 30,000BC in the late stone age. Egyptians made some pretty intense murals as recently as 3,150BC. They were as important then as they are now, depicting battle scenes, historical moments, religious beliefs or political/economical struggles.
