On the sidewalks of our street – Meet The Chewing Gum Man

An artist doesn’t wake up and think “I should probably create something today”. An artist wakes up (if he or she has slept) and thinks “I HAVE TO DO THIS!”

With that in mind let’s head over to London and meet Ben Wilson AKA ‘The Chewing Gum Man’

You know all those black spots on the sidewalks around the world? That’s discarded chewing gum. Believe it or not some people don’t realise that.
Ben does and when he finds one that inspires him he turns it into a work of art. A process that can take between three and six hours.

The detail in his work is unbelievable. A true artist!

Let’s start with a full english breakfast:

British band Mystery Jets have a fantastic song called Bubblegum that talks about how our streets are sprinkled with traces of our existence. They meet Ben in the short video:

Awesome stop motion of the entire process!
